Onghokham (1 May 1933 – 30 August 2007)

Is he a true scholar in Indonesian history or a bon vivant & connoisseur of food?
Controversial and eccentric Chinese Indonesian, Onghokham changed his Chinese name of a three-syllable to a single one. Was that his way of Indonesianizing his name or just too impatient and lazy to go through the bureaucratic process of converting his name? Or did he believe changing to an Indonesian name is nonsense and simply refused to acquiesce.

Was Ong a sinophobe or sinophile?

Has anyone happened to read the book “Onze Ong: Onghokham dalam kenangan”?
